Scaffolding removed from landmark building as renovation progresses
BENTONVILLE, Ark. (August 29, 2024) -- Today, Walmart revealed a significant milestone in the comprehensive renovation of the iconic Walmart Museum building, with the removal of exterior scaffolding on the south side of the building. The building, home to the Walmart Museum, Walton’s 5 & 10 store, and the Spark Café, will remain closed as construction on the building continues.
"We're deeply committed to preserving our heritage at Walmart, which is evident in every facet of our new Home Office campus, including the renovation of the Walmart Museum," said Walmart. "We’re excited to welcome the Northwest Arkansas community back to the Walmart Museum in March 2025, reopening of a landmark that not only honors Walmart’s history, but also celebrates what makes Bentonville truly unique."
As the project continues, Walmart is committed to providing a seamless experience for its associates, tourists, and the local community. Here’s a snapshot of what they can expect.
What to Expect:
The removal of the scaffolding has offered a first glimpse of the revamped space. The remainder of the scaffolding will remain in place through September. While the renovation continues, the Walmart Museum will remain closed at this location. However, the temporary location inside of the neighboring Ledger building will continue at normal operating hours. The Spark Café ice cream truck will remain at the southwest corner of the Bentonville Square.
Walmart will continue to keep the community updated with exciting announcements to come. The Walmart Museum is just one example of the ways Walmart’s New Home Office supports the local economy while enriching the campus community, fostering a lively and engaging work environment where associates can work better, live better and thrive.
